The European Commission has outlined an action plan to strengthen the cybersecurity of European Union hospitals and healthcare providers against increasing cyber attacks. The plan includes the establishment of a pan-European cybersecurity support centre, providing cyber guidance and resources. Following 309 significant cybersecurity incidents in the sector in 2023, the plan focuses on enhancing prevention, detecting and identifying threats, response to attacks, and deterring cybercriminals.
