The vulnerability, rated 9.8/10 for severity, affects the Windows Object Linking and Embedding function, meaning users can be infected with malware just by previewing malicious emails. Microsoft has advised all users to install the patch immediately and suggested viewing emails in plain text as a workaround if application of the patch is delayed.
