Campaign By North Korea’s Lazarus Group Targets Freelance Software Developers

North Korean hacking group, Lazarus Group, is targeting Web3 and crypto software developers with malware-laced freelance job offers. The operatives, masquerading as recruiters on LinkedIn, sent test projects redirecting developers to malicious GitLab repositories, which distribute Windows, macOS, and Linux-compatible malware. The attacks exfiltrate system data, terminate browser processes, and execute arbitrary code. This can lead to intellectual property theft, access to cryptocurrency wallets, and potentially millions in stolen digital assets.
