DOJ, FBI Dismantle Malware Used By China-Backed Hackers In Global Operation

In a collaborative international operation, the US Dept. of Justice and the FBI successfully eradicated a Chinese state-sponsored malware attack known as “PlugX” from over 4,200 computers across the US. The operation, in conjunction with French law enforcement and cybersecurity firm Sekoia.io, targeted a China-backed espionage campaign which has been active since 2014. The multi-faceted, cross-border operation marks an essential proactive action against future cyber threats.
