NHS Cyberattack in UK Inflicted Long-Term Harm on Patient Health

A cyberattack on Synnovis, a blood testing contractor for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), caused serious health damage to numerous patients. The disruption led to over 10,000 postponed appointments and more than 1,700 cancelled elective procedures across many hospitals. The total number of patients affected might be higher due to potential delayed health effects. The attack was claimed by a Russian criminal gang demanding $50 million and has increased concerns over the vulnerability of healthcare systems to cyber threats.
