A data breach in student software vendor PowerSchool has affected thousands of American students, including those at New Trier, Lisle School District 202, and Mundelein School District 120, where the personal details of students were exposed. The breach is under investigation and, although PowerSchool said that, to their knowledge, the leaked data has not yet been used, cybersecurity firms have urged quick action. This includes contacting credit bureaus to prevent further credit lines being opened. PowerSchool is now strengthening its security and working with the FBI.
