Malware scams cost Singaporeans S$625,000 since December 2024

Since December 2024, Singaporean authorities have received reports of 82 malware scams, with victims losing over S$625,000. The scams involved fraudulent ads for travel and cleaning services on Facebook and TikTok, through which victims were asked for their contact details. Thieves later asked for a small payment or deposit, leading users to download a malicious software, compromising their devices and information.
