Around 20 train stations across the UK, including Manchester Piccadilly and London Victoria, have experienced a cyber attack, during which an anti-Islamic message was displayed on the public Wi-Fi landing page. The attack did not result in a breach of network security or a technical failure but is instead deemed as ‘cyber vandalism’. The Wi-Fi service, provided by Telent, was suspended and is expected to be reinstated by the weekend. The British Transport Police is investigating the attack.
