US money transfer giant MoneyGram has announced a data breach involving customer’s personal information, discovered on 27 September. The breach included names, contact information, Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, and, for some, criminal investigation information. The company denies this was a ransomware attack. MoneyGram is offering affected US customers two years of free identity protection and credit monitoring services.
