The May 2019 cyberattack on Wisconsin’s hospital system Ascension has had an impact on millions of patients’ personal data. With 5.6 million patients affected, it is considered the third-largest healthcare data breach of the year. The findings of the investigation were communicated to patients in December. In response, Ascension is offering a two-year credit monitoring package to affected patients.
