Ascension Health Attack Compromised Personal Information of 5.6 M

A cyber-attack on Ascension Health in February 2024 compromised 5.6 million individuals’ personal information, including names, insurance details, Social Security numbers, and payment details. The attack, detected in May, happened due to an employee accidentally downloading a malicious file. Ascension is offering credit monitoring, a $1 million insurance reimbursement policy, and identity theft recovery services to those affected.
