Passkey technology is elegant, but it’s most definitely not usable security

Tech firms Apple, Google and Microsoft are criticised for funneling users into using their own synced passkeys by default, making alternative options unclear, and not allowing seamless use across platforms. Complaints suggest current passkey implementation has failed the ease-of-use test, with too many firms trying to dictate how things should work, locking users into specific platforms.
