New botnet exploits vulnerabilities in NVRs, TP-Link routers

A new botnet based on the Mirai malware has been exploiting a yet-to-be-patched remote code vulnerability in DigiEver DS-2105 Pro network video recorders, infecting them with malware from an external server, and incorporating them into a botnet that attacks either other devices or conducts distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. This comes after security researcher Ta-Lun Yen identified the flaw at a conference. The malware also targets two other vulnerabilities in TP-Link and Teltonika routers.
