Ascension has concluded its investigation into a ransomware attack that stole data on almost 5.6 million people in May 2024. The healthcare giant said clinical operations were significantly disrupted. The stolen data included personal and medical information and payment data. Ascension will start notifying individuals impacted by the attack, although it stresses that there’s no evidence that data was taken from electronic health records and other clinical systems.
