LockBit developer snared in latest blow for infamous hacker group

Rostislav Panev, a key member of the LockBit ransomware group, has been charged in the US for assisting in the development and maintenance of the group’s malware. The group has launched thousands of attacks since 2019, including against 1,800 organizations in the US. The Department of Justice alleges Panev helped the group generate at least $500 million in ransom payments.
