Texas Tech University confirms data breach impacting medical records of 1.4m patients

Texas Tech University has reported a data breach affecting patient data from two health science centres, impacting 1.4 million patients. The Interlock ransomware gang carried out the attack in September 2024 and has since published patient data on the darknet. The compromised data includes personal and medical details and scans of driver’s licenses and passports.
