US Homeland Security has warned of increasing threats and violence, including cyberattacks, against healthcare facilities. This comes after a cyberattack on Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago by a Russian group called Rhysida, which offered to sell the hospital’s data on the dark web. The agency warned institutions to be on alert for such threats, and called for an immediate response to security vulnerabilities. It also highlighted the rise in threats against entities associated with abortion and gender-affirming care.
