Cybercriminals are using Microsoft Teams and AnyDesk support apps to spread DarkGate, a stealthy malware that steals sensitive data. The victims are initially contacted via spam emails, then are engaged on Microsoft Teams, where they are asked to download a support application that secretly contains the malware. Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro says the attack was thwarted in time, but illustrates the need for businesses to train against phishing and social engineering attacks.
