Juniper Warns of Mirai Botnet Targeting SSR Devices with Default Passwords

Juniper Networks has warned that Session Smart Router (SSR) products using default passwords are being targeted by a malicious campaign deploying the Mirai botnet malware. Infected systems have been used for distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and the company has advised organizations to change their passwords immediately. Other mitigation strategies include auditing access logs regularly, blocking unauthorized access with firewalls, and regular software updates.
