Nebraska has become the first state to sue Change Healthcare following a huge data breach that affected approximately 100 million people. The breach, which exposed personal information and medical records, was due to a hack on an employee’s login credentials. Nebraska’s Attorney General, Mike Hilgers, is holding the company responsible for its data handling and slow response to the affected individuals. The lawsuit accuses Change Healthcare, UnitedHealth Group, and Optum of violating state and federal data protection regulations.
