Despite the difficulties, controls and rules coming in 2025 offer hope for improved security. The impact of ransomware was particularly severe, with the U.S. experiencing the most attacks. A move towards a zero trust approach, alongside international initiatives, could mark 2025 as a turning point for healthcare cybersecurity.
