Rhode Island’s health and social services system, RIBridge, suffered a cyberattack on December 5. Hackers have threatened to release the personal data of hundreds of thousands of Rhode Islanders unless a ransom is paid, potentially affecting anyone who has received or applied for state health coverage or benefits.
