Gamaredon Deploys Android Spyware “BoneSpy” and “PlainGnome” in Former Soviet States

Russia-linked threat group Gamaredon has been linked to two new Android spyware tools, BoneSpy and PlainGnome, marking the first use of mobile-only malware in its attacks. Both tools target former Soviet states and Russian-speaking victims, collecting personal data, tracking location and accessing device functions. They are suspected to be distributed via carefully targeted social engineering disguised as common apps.
