OCR settles with Inmediata Health over HIPAA violations

Inmediata Health Group settled with the HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR) for $250,000 over a 2019 data breach that exposed the personal health information of 1.6 million people. The breach was found to have been caused by misconfigured web settings. The OCR uncovered several potential HIPAA violations, leading to previous settlements requiring the company to improve its security program.
