Synnovis staff to strike following ‘alarming impact’ of cyber attack

Over 500 employees at NHS pathology supplier Synnovis plan to strike from 16-20 December, according to trade union Unite. The decision follows a ransomware attack in June 2024, which led to months of healthcare disruptions in south-east London and put significant pressure on staff. Unite argues that the company’s subsequent restructuring has led to threats of redundancies and unsafe staffing levels, while a move to a new facility could degrade pathology services.
