A hunt by mobile security solution iVerify on 2,500 Android and iPhone devices discovered six or seven infected with NSO Group’s Pegasus malware. The compromised devices were used by government officials, journalists, and corporates, among others, who were notified of the infection. Though the infected devices belonged to higher-risk user groups, experts warn that spyware infections could be more widespread than perceived.
