U.S. Senators Propose Law to Require Bare Minimum Security Standards for Healthcare

A bipartisan group of US senators has proposed legislation requiring American hospitals and healthcare organizations to adopt multi-factor authentication and other minimum cybersecurity standards. The Health Care Cybersecurity and Resiliency Act of 2024 also mandates improved coordination between the Department of Health and Human Services and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency on healthcare cybersecurity matters.
