The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has confirmed that more than 1,000 veterans could have been affected by a cybersecurity attack on a server managed by medical transcription contractor DBP. The encrypted data could have been copied and contained names, medical records and social security numbers. VHA is notifying all 2,302 possibly affected veterans and continues to work with DBP to improve security. No medical record information in the VA database was affected.
