UK Healthcare Provider Suffered Cyberattack, Services Affected

Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) has been significantly disrupted by a major cyberattack, causing appointments and procedures to be postponed. The hospital, part of the NHS Foundation Trust, has gone offline to prevent further damage, reverting to paper-based processes while the issues are resolved. Although the nature of the attack hasn’t been confirmed, it’s suspected to be a ransomware attack. This incident comes amid a recent series of cybersecurity breaches affecting the UK’s healthcare system.
