NHS Grampian ‘not accepting ambulance patients due to board critical incident’

NHS Grampian in Scotland has declared a board critical incident due to ongoing pressures at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The health service, which is responsible for about half a million people, will divert ambulance patients to other hospitals unless they need immediate life-saving care. The hospital will still offer cancer treatments and diagnostic tests, but some elective procedures and appointments will be postponed.
