The tools lowering turnover at Hackensack Meridian

New Jersey’s Hackensack Meridian Health has cut staff turnover from 14% to just over 8% in the past three years using enhanced engagement strategies and greater attention. The initiative involves team leaders receiving quarterly engagement survey results and customised monthly emails setting out performance against goals. Engagement, coupled with competitive pay and benefits, has driven retention, said Linda McHugh, the health system’s chief experience and people officer.
