‘Matrix’ Hackers Deploy Massive New IoT Botnet for DDoS Attacks

Aqua Nautilus researchers have found a new large-scale Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) campaign, launched by threat actor Matrix, which targets a network of Internet-connected devices and enterprise systems. The attack is controlled through a botnet and uses various tools to scan for vulnerabilities and execute attacks. The main impact is denial-of-service to servers, leading to operation disruption. To reduce vulnerability, strong security measures like regular patching and strong password policies are recommended.
