An old Avast Anti-Rootkit driver is being used to spread “Kill Floor” malware on Windows PCs, according to cybersecurity company Trellix. The malware disables important security systems, allowing it to take control of the machine. Trellix suggests using a specific Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) rule to prevent the attack. The company does not state how it discovered the threat or if there have been any victims.
