Russian women stepping up for cybercrime outfits

Women are starting to hold more high-ranking positions in Russian-speaking cybercrime groups, according to the Sans Institute. While attitudes about gender roles have traditionally limited women to caregiving and domestic tasks in Russian-speaking countries, some women, especially from younger generations, are now taking on leadership roles in cybercrime. The researchers suggest that these women could find supportive employment in security if they chose to work within legal frameworks.
