The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is struggling to limit cyber threats in the healthcare sector as it has not implemented previous recommendations made by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) such as monitoring ransom-specific cyber practices and assessing risks from operational and internet of things devices. This puts patient care at risk and could prevent the HHS from leading in industry cybersecurity, the GAO said.
