Another major US healthcare organization has been hacked, with potentially major consequences

American Associated Pharmacies (AAP) reportedly suffered a ransomware attack, in which sensitive data was stolen and system encrypted. An unidentified group called Embargo claimed responsibility, alleging that AAP paid $1.3m to restore its systems, and demanded another $1.3m to avoid publishing the stolen files online. AAP has reset all user passwords, but has yet to officially confirm the attack.
