The US Department of Health & Human Services has unveiled the UPGRADE program, aimed at safeguarding medical equipment from cyber attacks. The program seeks to bring together equipment manufacturers, cyber security professionals and hospital staff to build a software suite that boosts hospital cyber-resilience. Using digital models of hospital infrastructure, threats and vulnerabilities will be promptly flagged, allowing for automated remedies and enhancements in the system.
