Data aggregator National Public Data disclosed on 13 August a breach caused by a third-party in December, with names, email addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers and mailing addresses reportedly stolen. Widely-discussed “USDoD” claimed to have access to billions of records of US, UK and Canada citizens, but the extent of the exposed data and potential risks have yet to be clarified.
