The Internet Archive, a nonprofit digital library, has started restoring its services after an extensive security breach took the site offline. Hackers stole and released the account information of roughly 31 million users which led to a flurry of DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attacks. The archive offers users free access to a vast array of historical web content. The library is working to restore its different services in a secure manner while trying to prevent future attacks.
