The number of cyber insurance claims related to data and privacy breaches is growing, according to Allianz Commercial. The insurer recorded 14% and 17% YoY increases in the frequency and severity of large cyber claims in H1 2024. A trend for class action litigation related to privacy violations is inflating costs and contributing to the increase in claims. Cyber claims are predicted to stabilise in 2024, following a 30% rise in 2023.
