NIST drafts privacy protection guidance for AI-driven research

The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology released draft guidance on evaluating data privacy protection for AI, focusing on differential privacy guarantees. The guidelines aim to strike a balance between privacy and accuracy, and were developed in response to the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on AI. The agency requested public comments on the draft until January 25, 2024.
