Children’s Hospital Colorado is using telemedicine to offer specialist maternal fetal medicine to patients across Colorado and Wyoming. The move eliminates the need to travel long distances for appointments, which is beneficial for women with high-risk pregnancies. The service allows providers to review patient ultrasound images and tests, and virtually meet with patients to discuss care plans. A survey found all patients would rather have telemedicine locally than travel to Denver.
