AI startups selling to health systems don’t progress as quickly compared to those targeting life sciences firms or insurers, according to Flare Capital Partners. AI startups targeting health systems have reached Series C funding or later in just over 5% of cases, compared to life science (10%) and health plans (16%). Companies in this sector have raised more than $23bn however, half of that going to clinical care startups. AI in healthcare overall has raised approximately $60bn over the last decade.
