The National Health Service (NHS) in the UK has seen a rise in its blood supplies following low reserves in July. Overall stocks of O, a blood type that can be used for most patients, blood stood at 7.8 days’ worth and, overall, 8.6 days with all blood types. The NHS attributed the recovery in stocks to a slight reduction in hospital demand for the commodity and donors’ response to the shortage.
