The US healthcare sector reported 66 CEO changes in the first half of 2024, down 19.5% from the previous year, according to executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. The company found hospital CEO departures increased to 16 in June from 10 in May. Meanwhile, the CEO gender tenure gap continues, with the average tenure for female CEOs of Fortune 500 companies being 4.5 years, compared to 7.2 years for male CEOs in 2023.
