A system failure of Malaysia’s Total Hospital Information System (tHIS) impacted public health facilities in the northern state of Kedah, including the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital. The downtime affected approximately 3,000 patients, hindering patient registration, medical records access and causing treatment backlogs. The Kedah State Health Department is working on restoring the system, additionally considering an upgrade to prevent future incidents.
