Bioengineers at Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven have developed a new spatial transcriptomics technique named Nova-ST. Providing a high-resolution, cost-effective spatial profiling of large tissue sections, Nova-ST aims to advance gene expression profiling in tissue samples. Compatible with various tissue types, Nova-ST will help paint a detailed map of gene activity across the entire tissue section. Scientists expect this technology to have broad applications, particularly in cancer biology, neurodegeneration, and plant biology.
