GAO Urges FDA, CISA to Revamp Medical Device Cybersecurity Agreement

The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) has urged a revamp of cybersecurity for medical devices, recommending the FDA and CISA update their 2018 agreement. The agencies have been tasked with brushing up their strategies due to organizational changes and improvements required in their coordination to ensure patient safety. The GAO also emphasized the importance of healthcare institutions mitigating risks themselves. Both FDA and CISA have agreed to the recommendation.
