Android malware Mandrake has reappeared on Google Play, disguised as file-sharing, astronomy, and cryptocurrency apps, after being undetected for over two years. Security firm Kaspersky reported that the malware has evolved, introducing several measures to better conceal its actions and evade detection. The chief functions of Mandrake are to steal user credentials and download and execute further malicious apps. These actions are carried out in later-stage infections served only to carefully selected targets.
