Rural hospitals are particularly vulnerable to ransomware, report finds

A report by think tank CSC 2.0 warns that rural hospitals in the US could be severely impacted by ransomware attacks without major cybersecurity investments. The research suggests that the ability of the US healthcare sector to protect against future cyber threats heavily depends on congressional funding. The report recommends the federal government develop long-term cybersecurity objectives and increase funding to the Department of Health and Human Services.
